This has become a very popular event with many people getting off work after a tough work week coming here with, or without the kids to enjoy a little piece of Americana that isn’t seen much anymore in our fast paced world. So pack up that picnic dinner, load up the kids and drive up to Placerville for one of those great summer evenings of good music and great fun. It’s well worth the drive.
The event starts at 5:00 pm each Friday night until the end of August. Each night features a different musical group, the schedule is posted on the Boeger website: Boeger Winery Website. They sell gourmet cheese, crackers, cookies and breads at the winery as well as a large selection of those great Boeger wines. Once the parking lot is full the event is closed, so don’t come too late and take a chance at missing all the fun. To read more information on Boeger Winery, as well as getting directions to the winery, visit our sister site, Sierra Wines and enter Boeger in the winery search box.
Camino Wine Plaza: Many Sunday afternoons during the summer the Camino Wine Plaza, home to four individual winery tasting rooms, offers an afternoon of music, dancing and great wine. Information and directions to the wineries located in the plaza, Findleton, Ursa, Auriga and Illuminare, can be found on our sister site, Sierra Wines. Just enter the name of the winery you are interested in in the winery search box to access their information and directions. These are four wonderful boutique size wineries that offer four very distinct wine styles, so try as many as you can while you are there. Food is often offered by a caterer out of Coloma for sale in their picnic area which is located close to the music center to enjoy with that bottle of wine you purchased. You can also bring your own food if you choose.
This is a great way to spend an afternoon! The day we were there the Bayou Boys were playing. They offer some really fun Rhythm and Blues that is just perfect for dancing and the
crowd was having a wonderful time. There is some seating in the area, but bring your own lawn chairs if you have them so you know you will be able to find a seat. The music venues offered are varied, but the common theme is that the music is all danceable and the event area has a very large, shaded area. So dust off your dancing shoes, fill up your picnic basket and head up to Camino for a really fun afternoon. The music usually starts around 2:00 and ends somewhere around 5:00. We post the times and dates on ourEvent Calendar at Sierra Wines, but its always safe to call the wineries and find out what they have planned. As with all of these events, this has become very popular locally and the parking lot fills up early, so don’t wait too late in the day if you want to park close.
